In general, they’re associated with water 🜄 and represent fluidity, adaptability, abundance and the subconscious. They can live in schools or solitary.

The fish is a common symbol in religions. In Christianity, the ichthys was historically used to represent Jesus.

In Eastern cultures, particularly Chinese, fish symbolize wealth, prosperity, and harmony. Swimming upstream can represent perseverance. Fish can also be associated with water deities.

Fish are a vital part of the Filipino diet and culture, given the country’s archipelago nature, and fishing is a major industry. Fishermen make a large part of the country’s backbone along with farmers.
