Visual communication is an off-shoot of communication topics, of which my usual specialization or special interest in linguistic communication (syn. dialogue, verbal, speaking, written, text/textual).
Visual comms is complementary to linguistic in an “art & copy” kind of approach, with its own set of principles like composition and hierarchy.
